Inside the Planetarium

Dome Theatre

The Skywatch Dome Theatre provides an excellent space for planetarium projections of the night sky as well as fulldome astronomy and science movies.

Skywatch Observatory

Skywatch observatory was built in 1994 and recognised by Siding Spring as a sister observatory.  Located on 3 acres of land and close to Coonabarabran, Skywatch provides a great location to stay for a few nights, relax and enjoy some country sights and the sounds of nature.  We provide a singular place to stay for enjoying the beautiful skies of the Warrumbungles and an extended opportunity to gain the most from your visit to Coonabarabran.

The Skywatch Astronomy Experience is available on cloudy and clear nights, the major difference being on cloudy nights the telescopes cannot be used, and the workings of the sky and things we can see are presented in the Skywatch Dome Theatre.
